The Palace at Somerset Park – Katrina and Fid’s Fun Wedding Guide

As we were on our way to The Palace at Somerset Park for Katrina and Fid’s wedding we had no idea what was in store for us. As soon as we walked in there was a roar of laughter from everyone in the room. Everyone was having an amazing time and the festivities hadn’t even started. Thankfully the high energy fun lasted all the way through ceremony, heart felt speeches and of course the dancing.

This was our first time at The Palace and it did not disappoint. The Palladian style mansion was absolutely massive and perfect for weddings that boast huge guest lists. The big plus for us as photographers was the grounds surrounding the venue made for great portrait locations. There were also a lot of close by nature parks for a little more dramatic photos.

Our favorite part of the day was getting to meet and hangout with Fidelio and Katrina. They are an incredibly sweet couple that we are happy to now know. Also they are incredibly photogenic! Here are a few words from Katrina about working with us:
Choosing a photographer to witness and capture one of the most special days of your life is no easy feat when you know next to nothing about photography. I went with my gut, and my gut went with Drew and Angela.

So what exactly made me choose the Willinghams? First and foremost, their enthusiasm and shared love for Harry Potter  and Star Wars was already a sign that we would be kindred spirits. The fact that they are a husband-wife team of more than 10 years in the business was also a plus; they communicate well with each other, know exactly how to help with each other’s shots, and provide 2 different perspectives of the day. On top of that, they are also great, professional, and down-to-earth human beings with hugely positive vibes. Angela is the absolute sweetest and Drew is such a comic. I could not have asked for a better team.

But what really drew me in was their portfolio – not only are the pictures beautiful and well-photographed, they also tell a story. The candidness of the pictures on their portfolio really drew me in and made me feel like I was a part of the couple’s wedding day. Even on the day of my wedding, they were like ninjas – capturing the most hidden moments that really helps me to relive the day over and over again. In fact, my favorite pictures are not of my husband and myself – but the pictures of my friends and family; the moments I might have missed because I was too busy being the bride. Seeing that other side of my wedding reception and really appreciating the Willinghams’ knack for blending into the background & capturing those genuine moments – it’s really a priceless gift to have been given. I cannot recommend the Willinghams enough to everybody. Your wedding will not be complete without them.
